Old Yellow Barn

It has been a wonderful winter so far!  I love snow, since I rarely have to drive in it.  I love looking out the window across the snowy pasture and up to the Gazebo, like an ornament on the frosted field. And I love feeling like I have to stay home and use this quiet time to get things done.  I have been working on my new iMac  quite a bit and I will share a few new pieces.  The barn above is part of the dearest farm down near Grandma Moses old place, and I drive by it every Friday on my way to Bible study. There are about 5 barns on two neighboring farms, so I plan to get more shots of this cheerful architecture....Like Lemonade in a snowstorm.

Snowstorm, January 10

Old First Church

We had the most marvelous snowstorm last night, and would have loved to sleep in cozy and warm, but I had to rise at 5:00 and drink this liquid for my CT scan.  Dean and I both at appointments at the hospital this a.m. so we set out in the pick-up truck amidst the swirling snow in an arduous trek down to Bennington.  Although it was slow going,  it was really fun and oh, so beautiful!  After our tests we felt elated, so relieved to leave the clinics and machines behind and escape back into the white wonderland outside.  We stopped in Old Bennington to photograph at the very pretty Old First Church, and then over to the Country Club, where the snow was so deep we couldn't get to the spot we wanted.  But what fun we had trying!
I'm glad we had such a great morning , because by afternoon I was pretty sick from an allergic reaction to the contrast dye, and have not been well all week.  But Praise God, My Gentleman is now cancer free, and healthy as a horse!!!

Home From Sledding

What a wonderful thing it is to spend a Saturday sledding and playing in the snow with your family! Although this a compilation of several of my images, it captures the feeling of our day. I hope to add it as an illustration in my children's book "The Book of Boo." [ And yes, that is BooBoo in the lower right.  What an amazingly sweet little doggie...]
